About Therapy
Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery, and in my sessions I promote behavioral transformation by encouraging a shift in perceptions, and the adoption of new attitudes and reactions. A strong therapeutic relationship is essential to achieving positive outcomes, and I believe this is gained by providing respectful listening, compassion and gentle guidance. I support my clients by implementing various methods to help them develop skills to problem solve and move forward, encouraging self-compassion, awareness and personal growth. I have extensive training in various modalities and incorporate evidence based practice with empathy, connection and validation. My goal in working with clients is to empower them with the skills to navigate the challenges of life with clarity and courage.
Psychological Services
I work across the lifespan to support clients with a range of presentations including anxiety, stress, mood, trauma, grief and loss, and neurodiversity. I have knowledge and experience applying various evidence-based interventions including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness-based strategies. I assess adults for neurodevelopmental differences including autism and ADHD, as well as cognitive and memory function. I have a particular interest in working with children and adolescents, including assessing for autism, ADHD, specific learning disorders, cognitive impairment, and giftedness. In addition to being a registered psychologist, I am also a registered teacher and have over 16 years experience working in educational settings in both inclusive practice and counselling.
Therapy for Adults
I provide comprehensive psychological assessments for adults, including ADHD, autism, learning difficulties, and cognitive functioning. I also offer evidence-based therapy for a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, personality disorders, and neurodiversity in adulthood. My approach is compassionate, non-judgemental, and collaborative. I am mindful of the ways in which diagnostic processes can be influenced by gender and presentation style, often leading to misdiagnosis or overlooked internalised behaviours—particularly in individuals who mask or do not present in stereotypical ways. These missed or inaccurate diagnoses can result in ineffective interventions and prolonged distress. I work carefully to understand each person’s unique experience, and I gently guide reflection and problem-solving to support meaningful insight and growth. I believe people hold more strength and wisdom than they often recognise, and I aim to empower my clients to navigate personal and interpersonal challenges with greater clarity and self-understanding.
Child & Adolescent
With nearly two decades of experience working with neurodiverse children and adolescents, I specialise in comprehensive psychological assessment and support for autism, ADHD, learning disorders, giftedness, and intellectual disability. My approach is grounded in a deep understanding of the nuanced ways neurodivergence can present across different individuals. I am committed to recognising and valuing the unique strengths and challenges of each neurotype, ensuring assessments are thoughtful, respectful, and tailored. In addition to working directly with young people, I partner closely with parents to help them better understand their child’s needs and navigate the complexities of family dynamics with confidence and compassion. As a parent with lived experience in a neurodiverse family, I have personal insight into both the joys and challenges navigating supporting children and adolescents to grow and learn, and also the difficulties both children and parents face.
